A handcrafted wood dildo - or Jildo as the company affectionatly call them. Lets face it; we do love a big stiff wood!Is this old idea worth reviving?

What was your first impression of the item sent to you? - the look and feel of it and your assumptions of how it was going to perform?
I had no idea what it was at first - it arrives in a foam-filled box and is contained in a sumptuous velvet bag. My initial thought was that it was some sort of hand-crafted ornament, until I saw the shape and realised it was a dildo. Then I was a little apprehensive - as beautiful as it is, it is quite long, and a little intimidating.
What was the item like in action?
The wood is so well-polished and warms to your body very fast - it feels so natural somehow, being made of wood. Personally, I found it too long for my petite frame, but it's better to have too much than too little I guess! This particular model seems to have a less rounded 'head', which I found a little uncomfortable deeper inside me. The 9 large rings (hence the name) around the middle of the dildo are stimulating without having the novel 'grating' effect of some 'ribbed' dildos I have come across (if you'll excuse the pun)
Did the item make you feel sexy?
Just holding it and looking at it made me feel sexy - sort of primal too, as wood has always been the original dildo material through the ages. It is made from Brazilian Purple Heart wood - which sounds somewhat better than 'my dildo is made from boil-wash pyrex'... and is polished to the most amazing sheen.
What reaction did the item acheive - personally to you or with other parties?
I mentioned it to my best (male) friend, whose eyes immediately boggled and exclaimed 'But... aren't you worried about splinters?' I had to explain that there is no chance of splinters at all (well, unless I decided to saw it in half and take the wood plane to it. Unlikely) due to the hand-crafting of the wood and the polishing process. When mentioned to another friend, she was most impressed and commented that it must be a work of art - which it is. I'm not totally sure I could display it on the telly, but it'd look at home in a boudoir, nestling in its velvet shroud.
Any other comments?
The dildo is clearly exquisitely made by hand with much love and care - extremely rare to find in the sex toy industry - so would make a very special (and unusual!) present for someone. Another possibility I thought of would be its suitability for the Pagans/Wiccans of the world (of which I am not) due to its material and crafting, and also its wand-like nature.
How could this item be improved upon?
This particular model could possibly have a slightly more rounded head for the more enthusiastic thruster.
