A dam (also known as a Dental Dam or Latex Dam) is a rectangular piece of latex or polyurethane which is placed over the vagina or anus during oral sex to help prevent transmission of STDs between the vagina/anus and mouth, and vice-versa.
The Dams sent to us from xessentials.co.uk are for safer oral sex, suitable for those with an allergy to latex - Did these things get on our testers dam nerves or were they dam good? We have all the answers here.

What was your first impression of the item sent to you? - the look and feel of it and your assumptions of how it was going to perform?
A bit odd, I had never seen a 'dam' before and had never thought of using one, although it is a great idea.
What was the item like in action?
The dam was very thin and soft. However was quite cold to the skin. The sensations weren't a lot different to if I hadn't had it on, however wasn't quite the same.
I thought that it might slip and slide around on me, but it stayed firmly in place.
I am not alergic to latex, so that fact did not make any difference to me, I think that the flavoured ones might be slightly better for my partner.
Did the item make you feel sexy?
the item didn't exactly make me feel sexy, but after a few minutes I forgot I was even wearing it.
What reaction did the item acheive - personally to you or with other parties?
My partner didn't know what to think of the item to start with, but after a while niether of us really noticed it was there. We both agree that we will use the product more often though, as it is a good idea.

this product did not add fun to my sex life, but it added something practicle

What was your first impression of the item sent to you? - the look and feel of it and your assumptions of how it was going to perform?
I heard of them but never actually seen one. At first I went oooeeehhhhh .... why bother! Curiosity got the better of me so I opened it.... Wrapped in cellophane the item was inside a folded piece of printed paper with full instructions! Basically a fine piece of "film" designed to go over the female sensitive bits for oral sex. You unfold the film which is aprox A5 size - I say film as thats what it feels like - its very soft and not plasticky..
What was the item like in action?
Really wasn't looking forward to this one as I'm a big fan of oral.... This was a bit to clinicy for me .... But hey a great reason to play docs and nurses :) Got to say I was/ am surprised/ amazed/ it was so sensual when we actually got down to it. My other half wasn't entirely sure about caressing a bit of "plastic" with his tongue. Really didn't do a lot for him but was amazing for me! totally amazing! Ladies no more rough stubble on your sensi bits when he gets over excited ... really silky smooth feeling ... it didn't crease or crumple up too much.
