What was your first impression of the item sent to you? - The look and feel of it and your assumptions of how it was going to perform?
When we knew we had been selected to review this product, we were delighted. It is not that often that a new concept in sex toy appears and this was certainly one. An up-market, expensive product, it is the subject of a highly polished, slick marketing campaign and is presented as a de-luxe toy indeed.
What also distinguishes it from 'the rest' is that it is marketed as having beneficial effects on Pelvic floor muscle tone which will result long term, in better sex for the user and for their partner.
So did it stand up to all these high claims .... well actually the jury is still out here as I will explain.
There is no doubt that the product reeks of quality. The packaging and presentation certainly is in keeping with that which one would expect of a top end product. We couldn't wait to try it.
Unfortunately though - and I think we were just extremely unlucky indeed, there was a slight issue with the battery compartment on the unit we received - we just couldn't get batteries into the unit. I mention this in order to give unreserved praise to Jopen's customer care team. They shipped a replacement unit to us within a week. A1 service. I think it was just extremely unfortunate that our first unit was faulty - I don't think it is likely to be a product fault.
What was the item like in action?
So now we come to the in use bit - and this is really where, for us, the Jury is still out after a couple of weeks of ownership during which time we have played with it maybe 5 times or so (would have been more but illness intervened).
Certainly the product does exactly what it says on the box in terms of its own actions - it vibrates as it promises and provides electro-stim as it promises but, is it the new zenith of sex aids?, we are not as yet convinced.
We have had some experience with electro sex devices in the past and as such realise that it takes time to adapt to and learn the best way to use this type of stimulation. As such, we are sure that there is more to be got from this device than we have so far.
The unit is simplicity itself to use, dab on a load of conductive lube and insert it, pump up the expandable shaft until it feels a good snug fit, lie back and enjoy the vibration stimulation from the rabbit ears and internal G-spot vibes. As the moment seems right add on whatever degree of electro-stim you like - at the lowest level it is virtually unnoticeable but you certainly spot it at higher levels.
This is the thing about electro-stim though, because it is invisible and silent it is best played with by the recipient rather that by a partner - it is difficult as a partner to hit just the right stim intensity level at any given time. Get it wrong and you certainly wont get positive comments from your other half.
The other niggle we have is that Jopen have gone down the route of high frequency, low amplitude vibes on the rabbit ears. This is not the optimum for my partner. The cheap but faithful rabbit we often use in our sex games will have her coming in 30 secs, and then again and again and again, higher and higher - this unit did not achieve this type of dramatic result. This is down to the difference in vibration type.
Rather disappointingly, we found ourselves reaching for the 'old favourite' after a rather less than satisfying session with the Intensity.
However, as we said at the outset. we are sure that with more practice, we will get better results from the Intensity than we have up to now.
Certainly we have found that insertion depth and degree of inflation makes a huge difference
to the feelings it generates.
Regarding the claim that it will firm up pelvic floor muscles, we just don't know yet. As with any muscle toning regime, it will inevitably take time and plenty of regular use to see results. We look forward to continuing the program.
Did the item make you feel sexy?
The product oozes classy sexuality and we are both turned on by the thought of it. It is a good product, in part, to play with with your partner - in part, because as stated before, she is probably best setting the electro levels she wants herself rather than you.
In action though, it is just a little disappointing for us - we sort of think that it should somehow, be a bit better than it is - although this might well come with more practise.
What reaction did the item achieve - personally to you or with other parties?
I think we have covered this section above really. We were both extremely impressed with the device and were expecting it to 'move mountains'.
Any other comments?
We will certainly persevere with this device. We have ordered a bulk shipment of electro lube and hope to spend many happy hours increasing our knowledge of the best way to use the facilities it has.
Time will tell about its claims to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and whether it can be used in such a way as to generate the ultimate orgasms that the marketing promises.
How could this item be improved?
For us, the real issue is the waveform of the rabbit ears vibrations. I suppose this is likely to be a personal issue and maybe we are in the minority and others might not regard this as a problem at all.
Would you recommend this item to a friend?
Difficult this one. It is, in our eyes, an extremely expensive sex aid and the question has to be 'Does it provide enough for that high cost'?
Unless we can, with practise, get more out of it than we have up to now, then, rather sadly, I think we would probably say 'No, we would not recommend spending this amount on this toy'. We say 'rather sadly' because the product promises so much and we really, really want it to deliver.
However, if money is no object and one is looking for a classy gift for a partner who 'has everything', then this might well fit the bill.
Do you have any hot tips for usage with this item?
Plenty of lube, get the inflation level right, let the female play with the electrostim level herself.
Remember to switch off the electrostim before withdrawing the device otherwise as contact is lost with your body, you will get a fair stinging feeling.
What rating would you give this item out of 5?
4 at the moment - we are still hopeful that we might get it up to a 5 yet though!!
