What was your first impression of the item sent to you? - the look and feel of it and your assumptions of how it was going to perform?
It was a large package and I was very excited. There were a few boxes to open before I go to the actual product. Due to the great packaging it was in pristine condition.
The box said the pole was pink. Now I am a pink girl but I had never imagined a pink dance pole. I did think at the time that this lessened its appeal.
No only did it come with an easy to fix pole but also a little bag of extras - a black feather boa, some fake money, a garter and a DVD of how to do it, or that's what I assumed.
Well natural I was thrilled - wouldn't you be if you had just received a free dance pole to test?
What was the item like in action?
In action the pole was very easy to set up. You twist it apart and it wedges between the ceiling and the floor. There is a little 'protector' bit so if you have artex ceiling it wont break off your bobbly bit, and if you have a flat ceiling it wont mark it. There is the option to 'fix' the pole in a more permanent position, but I didn't do this. You need a fair bit of room to dance about, and I didn't want the pole as a permanent fixture in the livingroom. Anyway that part is all simple and smashing.
However, the box does say not to lean, hang from, or put pressure on the pole at all. Which left me thinking well what do I do with it then? I mean, I wasn't thinking of doing tissups or acrobats from the pole but I did want to do a bit more than dance next to it. In practise, you can use the pole to support you whilst you do body rolls and to grind you hips against it suggestively, so that was ok in the end. I guess manufacturers have to put all this stuff on products to safe guard themselves against the Numpties who will sue them because they tried to do something bazaar with the pole (I don't want to even think what these things might be) Anyway the pole was fantastic as a prop to sex dancing. Plus my hubby has only seen lapdancing clubs on the television, so he thought my dancing was fantastic. He was keen to spend his fake money!
The DVD I felt was a bit disappointing. I watched the DVD before I 'properly' tested out the pole. I has showed restraint because I wanted to do things properly and go with the whole experience. The DVD started out well. There were stretches and things, limbering up and what not. and then came the classes - strutting, floor work and playing with props, but not a pole in sight. and not any instruction of how you can actually use the pole. A bit baffling really. I wanted to see how I could dance with the pole and look sexy for my lover.
However, what the DVD did do was give general information about how to dance erotically. And it gave sound instruction which although it does make you feel a bit silly to start off with, you do feel confident enough that you don't look a totally Wally. Well it does take some confidence doesn't it?
In practise I did find that to start off with I had to pretend that I was confident and then it just kind of came to me and it all flowed. My hubby loved it and his reaction really help me, to the point of making me very flirty. The power trip is fantastic.
Did the item make you feel sexy?
The more I got into it the sexier I felt. Hubby felt very sexy too. It did get him very excited.
What reaction did the item acheive - personally to you or with other parties?
We have had some fantastic fun with the whole erotic dancing and the pole. It opens up other fantasies and defiantly adds a bit of sparkle to love making. We have in fact been option to stay in instead of going into town of an evening.

Well you remember I said earlier that I wasn't sure abut the colour of the pole. Well despite my initial reaction that I didn't think the pink pole was very sexy - I have changed my mind. It is really cute and funky and it oozes fun - which is what you're supposed to be having!
How could this item be improved?
Well I would like to have seen some examples of use on the DVD to be honest. I have sort of got an idea of what to do, but reassurance would have been helpful. Also maybe they would have shown me things that I hadn't already thought of.
Also it would have been great if I could have put the DVD into the hi-fi and it played some 'suitable' tracks. It is a bit tricky finding the right kind of music to dance to.

Yes I would have recommended to my friends. That have had a little practise on my pole.
Do you have any hot tips for usage with this item?
When you are dancing and all eyes are on you, you do feel a bit daft to start off with because its not something that you are used to doing. REMEMBER that just because you feel daft, you don't look daft! Keep you movements slow and fluid, and repeat the same movements a few times, remember he's enjoying it, he doesn't want to hurry up and finish and he wants to have a GOOD look. So don't whiz everything past him at Olympic gold speed, take your time.
