The Story of Topco Sales® - The Leader in Novelty Manufacturing

Adult Novelties were not a part of Martin Tucker's background in 1973, but, feeling the pulse of the times and tapping into his visionary nature, Martin Tucker authored a book on lovemaking with a novelty that set his book apart from others: an 8mm reel-to-reel "stag film" came attached. The book was a success and led to the birth of Topco Sales, then a small adult novelties business on Third Street in Los Angeles, California. A natural innovator, Martin Tucker drew upon his diverse academic background in aerospace technology and metallurgical engineering to lead Topco Sales into producing PVC adult products, or ‘marital aids' as they were then known. Soon after, Topco invented the first massagers that operated on low-voltage adapters instead of batteries. These successful technological achievements set the course for a business that would lead the industry in product design and patents.
With a business model based on quality and innovation, Topco Sales expanded rapidly within its first 5 years, relocating to a larger facility in San Fernando, California in 1980 and then moving into an even larger facility in Chatsworth, California in 2003. Since that time, Topco has unleashed a plethora of groundbreaking products. With an emphasis on research and development, Topco has remained on the cutting edge by consistently incorporating technological discoveries into their products. Two of Topco's most remarkable scientific breakthroughs have been the creation of battery-free integrated circuit (I.C.) operated vibrators and the world-famous realistic CyberSkin® material. Topco Sales is known for items such as the Virtual Girl™, the world famous Love Swing®, Sex Tarts™ and The Love Machine®.
Now, in 2008, Topco Sales® is celebrating its 35th anniversary. A leader in the industry and a family run business, Scott Tucker, son of Martin Tucker, is now at the helm. Martin Tucker recently began a new manufacturing facility in China. The state-of-the-art Chatsworth, California factory features the largest Materials-and-Process Research Center in the industry and houses approximately 500 employees. The Shenzhen, China manufacturing facility boasts nearly 1500 employees - making Topco Sales® one of the largest manufacturers of adult novelties and cosmetics globally.
